Acknowledging the Challenge

At Metal Assemblies, sustainability isn’t a bolt-on or a compliance exercise - it’s how we secure our future and contribute to the future of British manufacturing.

We operate in one of the most carbon-intensive sectors on earth (steel processing accounts for 7-8% of global emissions). Our customers - in automotive and other industries - are under increasing pressure to decarbonise their own supply chains, and legislation such as EU and UK CBAM is making embedded carbon a real financial cost from 2026.

Choosing Metal Assemblies means choosing a partner that cares:

  • 100% zero-carbon electricity (nuclear + renewables) today; significantly lower carbon footprint compared to fossil fuel-generated electricity
  • 100% UK-sourced raw materials - supporting British jobs and slashing transport emissions.
  • Granular, product-level carbon data - we can quote embedded emissions right now and are rapidly developing this capability.
  • We are committed to reducing our emissions by investing into digital technologies and renewable energy.

By embedding sustainability into everything we do, we protect competitiveness, future-proof your supply chain, and contribute to a genuinely lower-carbon UK manufacturing base.
